Write, Shoot and Edit a Film No qualification

Course content:
This intensive four-week course will aim to provide students with the practical and theoretical knowledge of all aspects of film production. From a script submitted by and selected by members of the group, a short narrative film will be scripted, shot and edited using professional digital equipment.
By the end of the course you will be able to:
1) Identify and explain the use of your digital camera's features
2) Identify and explain basic lighting techniques
3) Use the digital camera to produce effective shots
4) Identify and explain roles on set
5) Produce a short film
6) Identify and explain the Final Cut Pro interface
7) Use Final Cut Pro to create an edited piece
8) Burn the project onto DVD

Course Structure:
Introduction to Digital Cameras; Lighting Workshop; Scheduling; the shoot; Filming; Introduction to Final Cut Pr; First Assembl; Fine Trim; Adding effect; Screening

Course resources:
All students have access to our fully equipped state of the art learning centre. This included free internet access. Your practical training will take place in a fully equipped studio.

Assessment:
Assessment will be through practical work. The completed film will be screened at the college and evaluated by all students.
