Aims and Objectives
To enable you or your team to:
Save time, effort and frustration when using the keyboard.
Reduce keyboard errors, improve speed and accuracy.
Gain key office skills and become more efficient at touch-typing and keyboard use.
Outcomes will vary dependent on the application of the individual, but words per minute of between around 40-60 words (and beyond) are achievable.
Gain a Pitman Training certificate and also the nationally recognised BCS e-type Level 2 touch-typing qualification (the typaz course incorporates both) - candidates achieving 60 Words Per Minute will receive the Gold Award.

Target Audiences
Anyone who uses a computer keyboard and wants to save time and effort through touch-typing.
Suitable if you are new to touch-typing or if you who want to build on your current skills.


Prerequisites
The course is delivered via a memory stick, giving maximum flexibility. The course can therefore be taken at a Pitman Training centre, at home or work.
If you wish to use the memory stick away from the centre you will need access to a PC/laptop or Apple Mac.
Some familiarisation with Windows.


Course Content
Up to the minute software, our Pitman Training workbook and supervisor support combine to create a unique, highly effective course.
You are guided through ten comprehensive and enjoyable lessons in a planned and logical sequence.
Each self-paced lesson builds on skills learned in previous lessons and at each step you are encouraged and motivated to continue.
At the end of the lesson, the program invites you to have extra practice if desired with the option of an extension exercise.
The workbook is a vital part of the course and contains lessons specially designed to consolidate what you have gained using the typaz software.
Each workbook lesson repeats the corresponding keyboard lesson content and more.
When you have completed a lesson using typaz you can refer to the workbook for additional practice before returning to the typaz program for the next lesson.
Using the workbook will give you practice on typing from hard copy text and will help you get used to typing when presented with more than just one line of text.
In addition to the material covering the 10 lessons in the typaz course you will also find additional practice to cover the symbol and punctuation keys as well as material to improve speed and accuracy.
The course alternates between speed practice and accuracy lessons to improve skills in both areas.
In-built reporting and assessment tools enable an accurate snapshot of your progress at any time.
You have the opportunity to gain not only a highly regarded Pitman Training certificate but also a BCS Level 2 e-type touch-typing qualification.
