For instance, their commitment to ecology and sustainability.  This can be seen in the ways they behave as consumers and their design of ecological studies.

One ranking to take into account when choosing between these schools in the one from the magazine Design Curial Green Metric- specialised on architecture and design. You can also consult the ranking, a study that has been carried out since 2010 with the objective of creating more green campuses.

What are the greenest universities in the world?

We took this data from the Overall Rankings 2019 of the Green Metric’s official website.

1. Wageningen University & Research. According to Green Metric, this university of the Netherlands is one of the greenest ones in the world. Their score is 9.075 points

2. The University of Oxford. This university raised two places compared to 2018. With a total of 9000 points, it has become the most ecological university worldwide.

3. University of California, Davis. The University of California ranks third in the Green Metric 2019. The study recognizes its innovative work by creating the «UCLA Sustainable L.A. Grand Challenge Project », which aims to achieve 100% sustainable energy by 2050.

4. Nottingham University. It lost two positions compared to 2018. This university develops many initiatives included in its monthly newsletter, Sustainable Nottingham. For example, programs to use the most efficient transport, to promote the use of the bike or to reduce the presence of plastics.

5. Nottingham Trent University. It remains in the same place as last year with a total of 8,700 points. This university has improved its items since last year it had 8,450 points.
