This course helps you develop your skills in professional cookery and covers presentation, preparation and production of dishes. It also gives you the chance to work in our fully-equipped training kitchens and bakeries to improve your bakery and patisserie skills.During the course, you can gain the skills and knowledge to work in the catering industry, or to progress onto either a professional cookery or bakery course.

Course programme

  • Three Access 3/ SCQF Level 3 Qualifications or equivalent, to include English and maths (or Level 3 literacy/numeracy units) and one from home economics, food technology or hospitality, or a related subject; OR

  • National Progression Award in Professional Cookery at SCQF Level 3; OR

  • Two years' work experience in a commercial bakery.
