Professional Cookery NVQ2 (Food Preparation & Cooking)

Course Aims:
An NVQ will give you a qualification which proves your level of competence and is a real advantage when you are thinking of a career in the hospitality and catering industry.

Course Content:
You will study:
Practical on-the-job skills which are recognised throughout the catering industry. This may include:
Food preparation and cooking in our production, larder and pastry kitchens. You will focus on specific skills and techniques required to become a successful chef.
Menu and event planning for a theme evening
Theory
Food safety

Progression:
Level 3 Professional Cookery offered at Southport College

Awarding Body:
City and Guilds (HAB)

Exam:
You will be continuously assessed throughout the course, through practical and product work.

Qualification:
NVQ level 2 Professional Cookery (Food Preparation and Cooking)
