Course description If you've always dreamed about becoming a chef and working in the bustling kitchen of a restaurant or hotel, then this Diploma in Professional Cookery Studies is the perfect place to begin your journey. You'll study six different units that will each give you a good understanding and knowledge of the hospitality industry and the skills you'll need to succeed. This includes an in-depth look at health & safety and food safety in the industry, and an introduction to all the equipment you'll be using. There will be lots of practical work too in a real working environment. You'll learn how to prepare and then cook food in a variety of different ways, including both deep and shallow frying, poaching, roasting, steaming and grilling.
