Do you love food and see yourself running your own restaurant or catering business? How about becoming a celebrity chef? Then this is the course for you. You will have the opportunity to train in brand new industry standard kitchen with dedicated chef lecturers. Haringey 6th Form Centres Hospitality and Catering faculty offers students the opportunity to gain international culinary skills that will equip them to work in quality hotels and restaurants. In this level 2 course you will prepare more complex work then level 1 and take part in the centre†s own restaurant and bistro. It will be like running your very own restaurant.
What will I be doing?
Level 2 has 24 units. You will learn how to maintain a safe, hygienic and secure working environment. Prepare, cook and finish dishes. You will learn how to prepare and clear areas for table and tray service, maintain and deal with payments and how to clean and store crockery during the course and from your assessments.

Students will prepare and cook a wide range of classical and contemporary dishes, building a repertoire of recipes and photographic evidence. All dishes will be practised thoroughly before assessment and you will be given the opportunity to develop your presentation skills.
How will I be assessed?
Assessments are carried out practically in test conditions within the Realistic Working Environment of the kitchen and theoretical tests are conducted online with a written end of year exam.
Where can I go after completing the course?
After completing this course successfully you can progress on to Level 3.
